January Training Schedule

SUU Online offers training on the following topics: instructional design, Canvas tools, online course development & design, etc. We typically offer weekly training.

All workshops are held at 2:00 pm in the Bennion Building third-floor conference room. (BB304H)

Note: We recommend you bring your own laptop or device for participation or note-taking.

1/17/17: Backwards Design (Recording Available)

Backward Design is a method of designing a course by establishing outcomes first. Alignment between outcomes, assessments, objectives, and activities is achieved through sequencing. Presented by Jennifer Hunter

1/24/17: Assignment Transparency

Making your assignments explicitly clear for students so they know the purpose, task, and criteria for success. Presented by Jennifer Hunter

1/31/17: Building a Better Online Course

Learn about how to apply online quality course standards in your own courses. We will discuss several key components of quality online courses such as building community and instructor presence. We will look at the resources available to you as you design and develop your course. Presented by Michelle T. Miller
